Beire

Beire is reached over the Gothic bridge that King Charles III the Noble of Navarre ordered to be built over the River Ciddacos. It stands on ‘a small hillock with a beautiful and large plain’. Time seems to have stood still in this town as you watch the river serenely flow across the huge plains of cereals and vines.

This town’s life revolves around the 14th century Church of San Millán, which underwent extensive renovation work in the 19th century, when a striking Gothic portal depicting several scenes from the life of St. Aemilian was preserved.
There are a medieval stone baptismal font, pews from the early 17th century and a collection of precious metalwork with items from the 17th to 19th centuries inside the church.
