How to get there

This is where our name comes into play: we are right in the centre of Navarre and that means there are many different ways to reach Central Navarre-Nafar Erdialdea

By car

We are an arrival and departure point, well-connected by road to many destinations. The roads spread out in a star from Tafalla to places in Navarra and its surrounding areas:

  • to the north, it is barely 35 km up the A-15 to Pamplona and less than 100 km to the Pyrenean landscapes of Roncesvalles;
  • to the south, Tudela and the fertile Ribera del Ebro are 55 km away down the AP-15;
  • to the east, Sangüesa, the gateway to villages in the foothills of the Pyrenees, is 45 km away along the NA-8602 and the A-21;
  • and to the west, the NA-132 runs across fields and hills for 30 km to Estella-Lizarra and the Rioja Alavesa is 90 km away.

A perfect centre to travel all around.

There is also a road network connecting our towns and villages, meaning you can enjoy a quiet rural road trip through stunning landscapes.

Tips if you are travelling by car:

  • * If your car is electric, check the charging points here or download the ‘Navarra te recarga’ app for convenience, from Google Play or App Store
  • Check out the rest areas at points throughout Central Navarre including Tafalla, Miranda de Arga, Olite/Erriberri and Ujué/Uxue
  • * In general, parking is free in the towns and villages in Central Navarre. Look out for park and ride car parks to explore the town centres on foot and to do your bit to conserve them.
  • The RMP parking spaces are clearly marked PMR in all the towns.

By train

If you come by train, your travel plans should be to the Olite/Erriberri or Tafalla train stations, both in Central Navarre-Nafar Erdialdea. Outside Central Navarre, you can also get off at Pamplona/Iruña or Tudela station, with connections to many destinations.

  • Other towns have other parking areas: Artajona, Legarda, Larraga, Miranda de Arga, Santacara, Carcastillo San Martín de Unx.

Check out the information panels with the rules for using each of them.

    Furthermore, if you are already in Central Navarre, you can take a bus between the towns and villages: check here to find the routes and how long the journeys take.
