Practical information on the route

The climb up to Peña Unzué starts from the car park on the edge of the town. Enjoy lunch at its practical picnic area, where there is also a water spring. There are other water points around here: at the Basque frontón court, near to the Church of San Millán and the Txirkua Spring.

The route will take you around 2 hours; it is at its best in spring and autumn, when nature is at its peak. This beautiful route is a great day out for the whole family; make sure you wear the right clothing and footwear for the ascent and also respect this truly special natural environment.
