Rural Carnival

This rural carnival revives age-old traditions with characters such as Larrukin and Karatula, folk dances, festive music and colourful costumes that fill the streets with joy and entertainment. The first references to the festivity date back to 1600; it was not held after 1925 until it was revived in 1992 thanks to a study conducted by Cristina Bayona, a sociologist from Olite and the local Txibiri dance group.
