Úcar is in Valdizarbe Valley where the French and Aragonese routes of the Way of St. James meet. Its natural setting, with its stream flowing down from the Sierra del Perdón mountains and large oak and holm oak groves, has led to a farming tradition mainly growing cereals and vines.

The main heritage attraction is the Church of La Asunción, built in stone in the second half of the 16th century and refurbished in the 17th to increase its capacity and strengthen its structure. A highly expressive Renaissance Christ Crucified is the highlight inside.

The large Baroque Chapel of San Miguel Arcángel, built in the 17th century and in the middle of a beautiful natural spot, rises up at the entrance to the town. This church was home to a Gothic painting of the Virgin and Child (14th century), which today is in the Pamplona Diocesan Museum.
