Tirapu

Its parish church was built between 1591 and 1609 on the site of an earlier Romanesque one; it boasted a Romanesque painting of the Virgin of the Tabernacle (13th century) and a Gothic processional cross (14th century), both now kept in the Pamplona Diocesan Museum. The high altarpiece (1638) is the work of Pablo González and Juan de Bengoechea, disciples of Juan de Anchieta.

The town is also home to old civic buildings, such as the town hall – in the former rectory from the 18th century – and the Basque pelota frontón court, built as a community project or auzolan in 1983 and covered in 2006. Emblazoned houses, fountains, paths and old coats-of-arms recall a past linked to different noble families such as the Goñi.
